End Of Mid Air Squadron

Post by thomasburnside »

It is with deep regret that I say this but the Mid Air Squadron Based at Kemble has ceased operations both Hunters and XH134 have been put up for sale and are due to go on auction at Goodwood in March 2016. Really dispointed to hear this was great to see a Canberra back on the display circuit. :'(

Read about this on UKAR. I'll really miss the Canberra if no-one else takes it on...in the post-Shoreham climate. :(

Very sad news indeed. I was hoping to see the Canberra flying at an airshow next year - never seen it in the air. :(

Paul I saw the Canberra three times last year at at Waddigton, Farnborough and Dunsfold. Its an amazing site we need 134 after just losing 558.

Absolutely, mate. :) I wonder if Doctor Pleming & Company would be interested ? Seriously, I bet the suggestion has already been made to them.

I read that the Vulcan crew are taking on work for one of the UK Mosquito projects, but there experience is much closer aligned with the PR9. Saw her twice last year, she is quite a performer....doubt if we'll see that again, whatever happens .

Trouble is they probably haven't been able to make any money in the after math of Shoreham crash,
with G registered Hunters grounded and temporary restrictions on manoeuvres by other old types.

Sad to say but they will all probably go to USA where there is more airspace and deeper pockets.
