Just watched $7m worth of fireworks go off over Sydney Harbour. Money well spent? Dunno and don't care. It was a terrific show and made a lot of people happy. I just hope the happiness carries on, goodness knows we need it these days.
May 2016 bring you and yours health, happiness and a little love everyday.

All the best to you Paul for 2016,
I am glad the Sydney show was great as my mate flew out on Monday to Sydney for New year, i followed his flight from LHR to Singapore on Flightradar24, a nice way to see your friends journeys.
All the best for the New year to all on the CBFS
Roger.

If anyone's out and about in New York, and sees a rather inebriated red head with a British accent, it's possibly my elder daughter. Younger daughter is on duty tonight at Croydon hospital. And I shall be having a quiet night in, with a bottle of merlot, some west country cheddar, and Bill Bryson's latest literary offering. Lovely !
Happy 2016 all.
EDIT: It is absolutely throwing it down here - glad I'm staying in.

Wishing you all a happy and safe 2016. I saw the 21.00 and 22.00 fireworks at Edinburgh castle about 4.5 miles from my window. There will be more at 23.00 and the finale at midnight but I''ll be in the land of nod by then hopefully. It's what grumpies do!

Happy New Year to All.
Yesterday was 40 plus and still in the high 30s when I told SWMBO that every bit of me was exhausted, and I was too tired to remain sitting on the couch.
I laid on the bed at 8:30pm with the french windows wide open.
Slept till 00:05 when local fireworks went off, sounding like a battle zone - huge explosions!
Then back to sleep.
So that was our seeing-in of the New Year.
