I used AirEd and saved the /.air file as a text dump. Those were compared. Using the editor itself does not show the last line as it only contains the tables.

kind regards,

M.

Cheers Keith. I tried pulling AAM from the link John posted above and that didn't want to work on a 64-bit OS. There are 2 links for it on Johns link but none say what OS they're for. I'll take a look at the last link to see if that one happens to be 64-bit :)
EDIT: Just had a look and the files look identical. No problem. I'm not going to start delving into airfiles

Saving as a text file for AirEd still doesn't show that info. :dunno:
What are you using to compare them?

Cheers Dave. I've opened our airfile on the WinXP rig which has Airwrench and ACM v2.3. I still can't see that info using either although ACM does say that Brian Withers is the author (which he is) though I fear this is referring to the Checklist not the airfile itself :dunno: ACM 2.3 doesn't work with FSX (AFAIK) so I can't take it further on that pc. Strange *-)

I used aired152_update806 and then specifically the AirUpdate.exe as it gave me the ability to convert the airfile to a .txt file.

Ah, I see it now. The other prog I used for a text dump didn't include that info. *-)
Interesting!

I dunno what to say Dave. If there has been a little plagiarism going on.. the readme included with Derek's model is quite explicit. Admittedly, not all the original names mentioned are available for comment but many are.

Just to make things more complicated, 8) according to the credits for the Dove, the FD was done by Wayne Tudor, who passed away from a heart attack in November.

Comparing the air files, if it was originally based on the CBFS Dove, most of the important entries have been changed anyway, so at what point can it be considered a "new" air file? :dunno:

edit. Just had a look in the readme for Derek's Dove, and you're quite right, it is very clear regarding use/modification etc.

I think I'll send Brian Withers a note as the airfile was/is his.
