My first 'Classic British' experience!

Well, actually my very first flight.
Looking through an old family photo album, I found the following photograph -
This shows myself (aged 6, in 1970), with my Mother and Sister behind me, descending the steps from my first ever flight.
This was barely 12 months after undergoing open heart surgery at the brilliant Birmingham Children's Hospital, to repair a 'Hole in the Heart' condition.
The aircraft was a De Havilland DH106 Comet 4B of BEA Airtours and had just arrived at Gerona. I can still remember looking out of the large oval window at the red painted wing and watching the spoilers (a seemingly small metal plate, with holes in it) deploy.
I sincerely believe that the three hours prior to this photo being taken, were definitive in shaping my interest in aviation. From watching the aircraft from the LGW departure lounge, to experiencing my very first flight (and what an iconic aircraft!), I only wish that I knew the registration.
My Dad obviously saw my interest and occasionally after Sunday lunch would say 'I'm going to take Kev over to Birmingham airport for a couple of hours'. The excitement was incredible.
Without doubt, a defining moment in my life.
