Dornier Museum, Friedrichshafen
Some photos from my visit to the Dornier Museum at Friedrichshafen airport in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Looks like a lot of money has been invested in this place!

Appears to show forces on an airship. The text is hard to read but I guess S is "Schub" (thrust), W would be "Widerstand" (drag) and G "Gewicht" weight or gravitational force
Claude Dornier's degree certificate in engineering

Re: Dornier Museum, Friedrichshafen
Thanks for those photos. The museum really does show the sense of pride in German aeronautical engineering and innovation.

Thanks, Toby.
Great photos as always!
The Do-28 Skyservant reminded me of a Matchbox kit that I had as a child. I also had an Alpha Jet kit, which I think was also Matchbox (parts moulded in multicolour plastic).
Regards
Kevin

I love the wicker lawn chairs in the Merkur. Ralf Kreibich modelled one some years back for FS9.

Hi Toby,
Thanks for sharing, and for the captions.
A guess about the rear passenger compartment sealed off: no fuel in the tanks, no passengers in the forward section, so if museum visitors decided to crowd into the rear......tipping onto the tail might happen.

It's a dornier D0 214 prototype

Hi Chris, I know this isn't my thread, but I think it is a Do214, see the wartime model photo here:cstorey wrote:Splendid photos, Toby , thank you . Do you know what the 8 engined flying boat was, shown uppermost in the model case ?
