Getting used to using smaller airstrips but landed a bit further along the runway than planned.

That looks good. What video recorder did you use?

btw - I see that you've uploaded to Photobucket.
Did you put the [img]&[/img] in with the file? I'm not sure myself whether that would automatically take the viewer to Photobucket to watch.
Didn't worry me, but some folks may not want to download. Especially those using public library computers with their download restrictions.

The video is excellent Nigel.I love the DAK but as I'm still with FS9 I wouldn't be able to use it.However I have the superb MAAM SIM DC3 for FS9 and would be interested to know if anyone will be in a position to draw up a comparison between the two. EricT

A bit of a pointless exercise if you're not using FSX Eric

Been too many years since I've flown the MAAM model but what I can add is that there's a direct lineage between IT and the v3 model in Jan Visser who's name is synonymous with quality. The v3 project is based on bringing the VC to vintage standards though there are updates to the v2 external model too. v2 paints will fit the v3 model with very little fettling

Slightly off topic - Dave B, just a thing about the Montgomery C-47 repaint by TuFun Ted - my mum worked on that very aircraft when she was at Bassingbourn with 24 Squadron ( she also worked on the aircraft of Churchill and Mountbatten, and a converted B-25 which belonged to someone of equal importance ). It's a pity she never took photos of Monty's Dakota- it might have helped Ted with his research.

Yup.. Ted mentioned that a members mom had worked on the aircraft and I twigged you were the member The exact detail for that paint and other Transport Command Dak's remains something of a mystery. Ted has contacted a number of organisations and we've both spent what amounts to many hours searching the web but we're no closer to a resolution now than when we started

It's possible that what the model/decal makers have produced is correct and Monty's transport was a 'one off'. I'm sure he'd have commanded enough clout to have had whatever he wanted displayed on his aircraft!! This said.. the Pegasus motif with the 24Sqn motto simply doesn't make sense and both Ted and I are wondering if someone somewhere hasn't got their proverbials in a twist by mistaking the Transport Command Griffon for the Airborne Divisions Pegasus and knowing it was 24Sqn.. added their motto! Neither of us can find photographic or written evidence to support the theory
