Deeply saddened to read on the BBC news, of the passing of Andrew Sachs, the Actor who played Manuel in Fawlty Towers.
A genius of comedy, whom I'm sure you will agree brought us all many hours of side splitting hilarity.
Rest in Peace, Mr Sachs but be sure that your work will continue to entertain and delight us for many, many years to come.

He was actually a very articulate man, and his Manuel character was nowhere near his natural persona.
Yes, that's what makes a good actor.
Sad to hear this news, RIP.

Very sad news. Just about everyone adopted the expression 'I know nothing' back then. A thoroughly nice man too, by all accounts. Rest in peace, Andrew.

Time to dust off my Fawlty Towers DVD's.

Another talent gone. :(

Very sorry to hear of his passing. Although I found Fawlty Towers at a later stage in life I have always enjoyed it tremendously. A few episodes will be viewed soon in remembrance of Mr. Sachs.

I was also upset when I heard the news, he will be remembered for Manuel but he did many other things too.

2016 has been a really bad year in terms of celebrity deaths. :(

Sorry to hear of Andrew's passing. He brought me many hours of laughter as Manuel. Loved his pet "hamster" named Basil and the scene where he speaks into a moose head sitting on the desk - "I speak English very well, I learned it from a book." Then the Major becomes very perplexed on hearing that, thinking the moose is talking.. Have to go watch that episode again. RIP Andrew.

  I remember that one - he'd been sold a rat and told it was a hamster. 'It's a rat ! You do have rats in Spain, don't you ? Or did Franco have them all shot ?' Priceless.
