Procedure for Evacuation of Aircraft Engine Fire

came across this video posted on YouTube of a Singapore Airlines flight 26 June 2016 having landed with an engine on fire, video taken by one of the passengers and although the fire service had just arrived it appears that an evacuation was not made immediately, (unless the captain wanted to make sure the number one shut down fully) I would have thought that an immediate evacuation from the port side of the aircraft would have been a far better option than allow them to remain in their seats and casually leave. :-O

This has been the subject of a good deal of heated debate. ( No pun intended  ) . There may have been some good reason for not ordering immediate evacuation , but it was sheer good luck which prevented it turning into a catastrophe - compare with the Manchester 737 tragedy
