Hello Chaps,

I know some of you watched and enjoyed Traffic Cops when I was on it a few years ago.

It's now on Channel 5 and I've been on the last two weeks. I'm also on Mondays so I thought now I'm back online I'd let you know... Of course if you're washing your hair that night I fully understand!!!!!!

Paul

Hi Paul, I wondered if that was you when I watched it, never get fed up watching these programmes including night cops even though I did it for 17 years in C.C.T.V. at Lincoln.

Apart from the D&D including the usual fights whilst working the night shift I had quite a number of drunk drivers caught after monitoring them and hell of a lot of drug taking including dealing. All that is needed now are a few more stiffer penalties!! :wasntme:

Keep up the good work Paul and next time please remember to give us all a wave!

Regards
Nigel.

My wife and I have been watching a lot of the older shows on YouTube most evenings. We have a TV in the bedroom linked to a tablet and we watch a couple of shows before going to sleep at night. We also watch 'Send in the Dogs', '999 What's your Emergency' and several other cop/emergency service based shows too.

Thanks for the heads up Paul, we will have to pay a lot more attention now to see if we can spot you! :agree: :)

Since we have been watching all these UK based cop shows I've realized just how deplorable a lot of people have become back home, the total lack of respect for the emergency services is staggering and I don't envy you having to deal with scum like that on a daily basis. In many ways it makes me glad I emigrated 24 years ago as life is very much different over here in small town Canada, there is crime in the major cities but once you get outside of those life is very peaceful.

I would love to be able to watch the shows (makes me all nostalgic), unfortunately unless they get on YT or torrents by naughty people it is near impossible. I'll console myself by counting my pension.

They are available on YouTube Alex, that's where I've been watching them. Just do a search for the program title and you should find them.

Starring role I see Paul. :) There's nothing wrong with drink and drugs as such - the problem is the side effects when you mix them with people. I see you had the usual rag bag of horrors - I sometimes wonder what is not shown.

Paul, I had no idea that was you. I honestly don't know how you do what you do. The word 'Hero' sounds trite and pathetic, but on behalf of all 'normal law abiding' people who you will never meet, we do appreciate you, and we're so thankful.

Why do you not get them out of the car when testing them?

Alex, Paul will correct me if I am wrong but if they are put into a car, should they decide to kick off they can be easily restrained whereas outside of a vehicle there can be a greater risk to the safety of the offender (so who should worry about that you may ask) 8) and of course the officers, not to mention that he/she might try to suddenly run off and that could produce more problems if they run across a busy road and be hit be a vehicle!

Regards
Nigel.

Ohhhh the times I have found certain substances which would have gone unnoticed had they not got out the drivers seat, and on one occasion that certain something was an UZI. Much safer to get them out. Hard to ruin away too with 16 stone clinging onto you.
