Classic British Flight Sim

Just a quick heads up - Aerofly FS2 has a couple of new areas for download in steam (each is £6.99). One area covers part of NE USA, including New York (largely centred around New York) and the other is a bit more pastoral - Switzerland. Aerofly 2 itself has recently been updated and now includes an F15 to chuck around the virtual sky (fun in Switzerland).

Performance is generally as before but takes a hit when NY is in view and especially Manhattan - quickly becomes a slide show but oddly smooth for all that. Plenty of scope to reduce the number of buildings rendered so you should be able to bring the performance back to something acceptable; having said that, with the full building count the scenery is absolutely spectacular. One point of real interest is that having flown over Manhattan with the resultant slide show I was able to land a few miles away with a completely smooth sim; Aerofly clearly doesn't suffer the same memory issues or failure to release resources bedevilling FSX and P3D.

One quick note on the USE NE downloadable content - one map shows coverage up to the Canadian border; however the high-res stuff is a relatively small area of the whole - centred around New York City. Switzerland seems to be high-res throughout; I got lost in various valleys but everything I saw remained high-res.
