I guess when we're right and on top
The jealous can't help themselves but Try and pull us down.
I'm reminded of someone i knew, quite well, who was a ex pat of some other country. He'd complain all the time about the US ... Politics, culture, etc
He chose to live here because his home country couldn't provide the life style and he was able to enjoy in the US but professed a far greater admiration and loyalty for his home country.
Neither country was good enough for him. I pitied him as lost and sad.... I believe it's what ailed him
...
I wouldn't be caught in his shoes for any amount of money or lifestyle.
This is my country I'll have no other.
O beautiful for spacious skies,
