Re: Peters Paints!
I see that they only built 383 of this aircraft.
Were there any schemes that you haven't painted, Peter?
As usual, you've done a great job! Congratulations.

Again, many thanks Peter. I'm going to need a bigger hangar

Many thanks Guys. I did not do this aircraft justice when it first came out, as it was my first attempt at painting a FSX model. I felt I owed it to Rob to re-visit! Have covered most of the F3 schemes Squadron-wise. Will move on to the F1 and Sea Hornet F20 (NOT the 'orrible looking NF21!) although not so many interesting schemes as the F3.

Re: Peters Paints!
Somehow I have overlooked Robs Hornet so I downloaded it and gave it a try, must say its a very fun plane to fly, fast responsive but great low speed handling. By default it maps to the P51 racer sounds but I re-mapped it to the JF mosquito for more realistic sounds.
Exterior is flawless, in the VC there is a yellow line that goes around the rim of the canopy that seams too bright/saturated while the panel itself seams too dark.
Strangest thing I ran across is the prop control, while flying at 100% prop it did around 3500 rpm but at 0% it went only down to 2500 rpm.
These things aside, its going to find a favored spot in my hanger, and you can't beat the price!

I read that Eric "Winkle" Brown was very pleased with its performance; aerobatic, climbed like a rocket, unobstructed view for the pilot, and just the right balance of stability for a fighter. Also, that big fillet stopped slewing even feet off rudder on one engine!
They replaced Beaufighters with them in Malaya. I imagine we'd have heard a heap of stories about them if they'd made it before the end of WWII.
The Mosquito FD might be a bit tame, Joe.

Re: Peters Paints!
Not the FD, just the sound. The default sound was aliasing either the standard B58 or P51, but I thought that the mosquito would be much closer than either.
