v4 runs on rails! One has to be mindful the move to 64-bit is also a move away from FS2004 vintage DLLs

Re: Prepard3D v4
Totally agree. When I compare FSX with P3D4 on this system, which has just been rebuilt, the difference is unbelievable. Flying over VFR scenery with the cloud shadows moving below. Its so realistic from the VC, and smooth.
What I'm really missing are the airliners I liked to fly, Trident / VC10 / Vanguard and 748. Before I flattened the machine and rebuilt it, I did use the 748 in V4 and it the panel seemed to work perfectly... you just couldn't see the model, so I guess many of Fraser panels would be fine if we could convert the models.

Re: Prepard3D v4
Yeah, I feel the same about a lot of legacy aircraft which have ceased to function. However, I see it as a fresh opportunity for designers, novice and expert, freeware and payware. P3D4 has created a new market for a lot of aircraft amongst a community who see the potential of v4 and are willing to make the move, having come via v1, v2 and v3...
I for one would really like to get stuck in with freeware aircraft development, starting with something simple-ish. I'd need help and advice from the experts around here though!
Perhaps others might also be encouraged to take up development, starting with their British favorite aircraft?

Re: Prepard3D v4
Actually I have found V4 to be much more stable than V3, maybe its because the old GAU gauges are gone. There are a number of aircraft that don't work and sometime they will crash the sim but its usually right away. I have only had one time where after an initial test of an aircraft, the sim crashed in mid flight.

No, not 'buggy' but the face of new 64bit flight sims.
With Orbyx installed it really is like real life on occasions and well worth the investment in time and effort to get it how you want it to be. I just hope that new versions of the VC10, Nimrod, Trident etc will be produced either commercially or by the fantastic talent that our amateur producers have.

OK, forget I mentioned it.
Re: Prepard3D v4
If anyone is interested, all the FAIB AI FSX works a treat in V4.
Busy working up my fleets again.

Just a HU, Hotfix 1 has been released.
See http://www.prepar3d.com/news/2017/06/114375/ for more info.
I expect FSUIPC5, ASP4 etc will need updates to match.

Re: Prepard3D v4
If anyone is game for trying it I'd be eager to hear if this is indeed the case...
