Joe Cusick,
I am serious, and don't call me Shirley.

Personally I tend to celebrate 5 July more than the 4th = Happy Riddance Day!

I brought a brand new American Flag today.. A real nice one with embroidered Stars and triple stitching on the red and white stripes. It cost much more than the printed one they had but I thought it was well worth it.
It's lit up nicely with my solar rechargable light.
Thanks for the well wishes.

You want the TRUTH?? Can you handle it??
It's 8:24 pm Pacific time. The neighbors have been shooting off fireworks since last Friday. The intensity increases as we get closer to sundown which is about 40 minutes from now.
Some of my neighbors left town to take their pets away from the noise. Other neighbors are having barbeques and lighting off the fireworks The wife and I stay home with the water hose just in case. Right now it sounds like a war zone and its not even dark yet
My plan is to play around with the new camera and see if I can get some photos of the sparkles in the sky. I have my monopod setup so I can sit on the back of my truck and steady the camera for those night shots.
I'm normally in bed around 9-ish to read, and lights out by 10 but I don't think it will quiet down until midnight. Guess what I'll need before then.

00:40 and the bombs are still bursting in air. ... My flag is still there..
Re: 4 july
Had to work tonight. Plenty of fireworks mixed with the 'pop-pop-pop' sound of semi-automatic gunfire. Idiots! Sounded like frickin' Afghanistan.
