Thanks Simon, it's good to know we were well represented on this sad day, it means a lot to those of us who couldn't attend the service.

I knew Dave from the Sim-Outhouse. What a great guy he was! Always willing to help. He introduced AICariers to me and gave my flightsimming a whole new dimension. I still can't really grasp the reality that Dave is no longer with us.

My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Godspeed Dave...

The service was lovely.
Very hard on the emotions at times, but that was to be expected. I think we were all in tears.
Alison, Helen and our own Ben spoke and were extremely impressive.
Afterwards, all said Dave would have hated the fuss. But any man would be totally overwhelmed with pride and love from what they had to say.
White Ensign flowers were great. Helen's message on her flowers made me fill up instantly and has again!

Nice to meet up with Ben, Dave G, Andy, Ben H, Simon and of course Alison and Helen. Also nice to hear from Dave's friends from Brooklands, The Bull and elsewhere.
Was a good send off.

ATB Dave you will be dearly missed

I was on my way to pay my respects today but had to divert to the Hospital as my father was suddenly taken into A&E, so sorry that I was about 5 miles away yet couldn't get there :( :( :(
Thanks Simon and Dave for updating everyone.

I think DM summed it up very well. A very emotional day. Very obvious that Dave was very much loved by all that knew him. He had a good send off.
Cheers DB. :RN:

Just to reiterate what Mr Maltby said....it was a fantastic service and a fitting tribute to a truly great man. Definitely a day of mixed emotions. It was great to see Andy, David Maltby, Ben, Dave Garwood and Simon.
Just want to say a huge huge thank you to Dave Garwood for giving me a lift to the service, for without whose selflessness my attendance would of been impossible.

Sad now I'm home :(

Godspeed Mr Booker

Gents ,
Thanks for keeping us all posted ; glad the day went well .
Managed to say cheerio to Dave by a Little Grey Boat ; the RFA were about but a small RN patrol boat was out on the impossibly Flightsim blue windswept waters of the Western Channel . Towering white Cumuli backlit by azure skies leaked heavy grey tears over the harvested landscape of Wessex .

Godspeed Dave .

Thanks also for your thoughts for the Compton family . Those farewells will be later .

Brgds dave f.

I've seen a couple of pictures of the flowers in the form of a Naval Ensign and as an anchor. Looks like a it was good tribute to Dave. I'm sorry I couldn't be there today.

It's still strange to think of this forum without him. :(
