I am incredulous when I read this sort of thing. To think of the effort and no doubt sacrifice that was put into becoming an airline pilot and to jeopardize that by having a drink or two.

Is it just me or are these incidents happening more frequently? Or is it just being reported more often? My dad has a few toe-curling tales about a certain pilot who often flew Herons 'under the influence' for Peter's Aviation back in the 70s, but I'm truly saddened by the same sort of thing going on in this day and age. Why would someone throw away an incredible career that so many of us lesser mortals would give our right arms for?
