A Grand Day Out

Spent a great day on Sunday at the Shuttleworth Trust R.A.F. 100 yrs celebration airshow. Very hot and a sell-out. Here are a few of the highlights -
Image
an impressive line-up !

Image
the Eurofighter Typhoon flew in for a stunning aerobatics display. Stealth it is not - the noise from it was awsome.

Image
The B.B.M.F. Lancaster is always a delight, especially this close & low - no, it didn't land.

Image
the Bristol Blenheim from Duxford - never seen it in the air before - brilliant.

There were plenty of the Old Warden residents taking to the air to help make a grand day out. :excited:

Cheers

Great photos Dave. What a perfect days weather for the event. It's well over 30 years since I last went there. Thanks very much for posting them. EricT

Thank you Dave!
The fast shutter speed stopping the props makes the Lancaster look like a model.
A joy to see your selection, especially in such lovely weather.

That Blenheim picture is perfect. She's one of my favourite British warbirds.

'Fraid not Gromit - I was wearing the wrong trousers  so no cheese. :(
As for the props on the aircraft -yes ,the shutter speed was a compromise needed to get sharp aircraft although I know it can be done (or so my know-all son tells me).
Cheers
