Re: American Independence Day
Yes, the Colonists celebrate their minor insurrection on the 4th. As an expat, I always celebrate the 5th. The 5th? Riddance Day!

I did not know either, I figured they were referring to 'Joe who responds first'.
Joe Cusick,
I am serious, and don't call me Shirley.

Re: American Independence Day
Well, there have been some funny replies to this "simple" question!
I like the curry joke.
It's as though people realised it was a trap.
It's like saying: Three men walked into a bar."
And then a listener asks: "What was the name of the pub?" "What street was it in?" "Do they do counter meals?"
....by then, you've forgotten what the joke was.

Re: American Independence Day
Hear ye hear ye hear ye
At the risk of being redundantly redundant, America's declaration of
Independace from England was declared on
July 4th 1776.
Yankee Doodle went to town
A-riding on a pony,
Stuck a feather in his cap
And called it macaroni'.
Chorus:
Yankee Doodle keep it up,
Yankee Doodle dandy,
Mind the music and the step,
And with the girls be handy.
