Romantic songs from the 30's? I don't think so!

The workshop CD player died, so I put an old tape in the machine. (We used to record 1930's music off the radio during the 90's.)

I guess that the lyrics are on the web, so look 'em up if you want to see that I'm not fibbing.
The song appears to be "Why do you do me like you do?"

After complaining: "Don't I always let you do just what I want you to? Don't I let you cheer me up when I'm feeling blue?"
He goes on with: "If you ain't got a home before I'm done, I'll get myself a shovel and I'll dig you one."
Not forgetting this little gem: "I'll put your head on the railroad line, Let the train come along and pacify your mind."

And we think that rap lyrics are nasty!

  Cliff Edwards (who was the voice of Jiminy Cricket in the movie 'Pinocchio') had a couple of cheeky songs back in the day. Paddlin' Madelin' Home' is a good one. And he also did this... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Bp4ASEm-ys :-O

I hear what you mean, Brian! :-O

EDIT: another line has come to mind, (couldn't find the full lyrics on the web)
"And when it comes to work, honey, I never shirk. I can always find a job, but you won't go to work!"
