Only about two years after they were first promised.

I give it six months, a year tops, it will never make money.

I agree, business men who fly to their companies or even visit would use airports such as Glasgow or Edinburgh if businesses were located in that area. Although Carlisle Airport is close to the Lake District these air services will mainly depend on tourism then it is only going to be seasonal at best.

Carlisle is unfortunately very isolated apart from the A74 (M) which runs past it, Stobart Aviation has also invested into this airport as they have done at Southend. Be interesting to see how Stobart further their investment here:
