A recent visit to the National Air and Space Udvar Hazy Museum with my grandson and daughter. Can anyone identify the plane in the picture - not the big silver Colonial monstrosity but the smaller plane in the foreground?

Hawker Hurricane by the look of it.

Re: Visit to Udvar Hazy
Partly hidden by the Nigel MkB, that does look like a Hurricane MkII.
Re: Visit to Udvar Hazy
Millennium Falcon?
Re: Visit to Udvar Hazy
It is indeed a Hawker Hurricane Mk IIC. It was apparently used as a training aircraft according to the museum. More pictures (sans my ugly mug.) from the display, including a picture of the cockpit, here: https://airandspace.si.edu/collection-o ... ane-mk-iic Scroll down after looking at the pictures and click the "Long Description" button for a comprehensive article about the Hurricane.

Great to see a members face Nigel, now don't ask if you look like what I imagined you look like!
Also enjoyed reading up of the museum and photographs.
Regards
Nigel.
