When I was at school, about 1961 , a fellow pupil called Ives was the lucky recipient of an RAF Flying Scholarship . One day I looked out of the window on one of the playing fields to see precisely this view . Needless to say it was Ives, and from what I can remember it did not endear him to either the school or the RAF ! ( It was of course also the grossest breach of the ANO ) . I often wonder what happened to him
