System time for flight time

In FSX Acceleration, I have the time of flight set to system.
Because it's usually dark by the time I get on the sim, I've not seen this before:
Here, it is Autumn, 18.20 hrs, the sun is still up, and it's "as clear as day".
The simulator puts me on a darkened runway with night lighting on.
When I check the World/time of day, it's spot on.
Anybody know what's going on, please?

Hi Mike are you flying from your home location or starting your flight from an airport some distance away
Try setting the sim so your aircraft is as close as possible to your real world home. Watch the sunset in the sim. Check the sim time on the Aircraft clock. Compare with actual real world sunset time at your house

Hi Dale,
The Free Flight was as always for me, set for Moorabbin Airport, which is same time zone across the whole State. Any sunset difference between our home and Moorabbin would not exceed 60 seconds, and I'd guess far less.
Data cut & paste for our time zone for today:

I was outside until halfway through the 7o'clock news, and although past official sunset, I could easily see my way around to feed the ponies.
The sim is evidently out by hours. :wall:

Interesting one this. I wonder if the sunrise is out by the same offset or if its date/ season related
Can't say I've noticed a difference here ( I normally fly on system time even when flying in the VA), landing at Egcc (30 miles away) there is little difference between that and real world sun position at home
Think I'll try setting the sim tonight at Hawarden. Sunset is 19:46 BST see what it's like

Can't get a full size image for some reason or other but click on it to get the full size
Hovering over Egnr, the sun is just setting. Time on clock is 7.42 pm so not far out

That's a sunset alright, Dale. B-) and as you say, right on time.
