Re: HU! Fsx Blackburn Beverley
It'll be interesting to compare with the one in my hangar, the FSX-tweaked 2002/4 model with droppable loads.
I'm sure there will have been many improvements over the years.
Thanks for the HU Pete!

It's not the same model, but an entirely new build by Manfred & co.
Just in case anyone wondering.

This is one fantastic model. Wow! It's going to take some time getting used to the cockpit being so high above the ground...almost landed short on my first flight. DaveB would've loved this.

Stuck some sideslip on the approach and it dropped like a stone, it's that barn of a fuselage that does it.
Some comments regarding the Beverley:
They never carried a navigator on the return trips as the pilot just followed the oil slick.
A famous aircraft designer saw a dutch barn blow past in a gale. The basic concept of the Beverley was born at that moment.
Spinning the aircraft is not recommended, as the torque reaction involved causes the Earth to rotate in the opposite direction to the spin.
The Beverly's first flight was in June 1950 and Blackburns Chief Test Pilot is reported to have said to his co-pilot at the moment of lift off " Well my sides airborne, how about yours"
The Beverley was the only aircraft that used to get bird strikes on the TRAILING edge of the wings

Liked that post. Nev!
I've been trying to d/l, but at 62 kb/sec, it's slower than a Beverley, and times out.
Our speed is never good, but lately it's so bad that we can't even phone our Daughter & family.
