Wow Brian, pure nostalgia - what a sight to behold. I travelled along that track a good few times when I was studying in Plymouth; it's a lovely part of the journey from Paddington. Never saw steam on it though. Thanks for posting, matey.
I'm glad you two liked it. While I was viewing another rail webcam someone commented that the Royal Scot and the Britannia would be passing through Dawlish soon. That was a 'must see' for me.
Brings back happy memories of travelling with my late Father behind 60163 Tornado from Birmingham to Plymouth (a diesel pulled us to Bristol, where Tornado took over). The section past Dawlish was spectacular, with the Sun out and the tide in. A couple of hours in Plymouth allowed for a pub meal and a pint in the beer garden before returning to the train for the return journey. One of the best days out I've had.
