I always associated the Lancaster with 3 turrets max. Where was the fourth located?
Chris,
Take a close look at 17-01p in the original post.
I think that they also tried a hole in the floor to shoot through, but that was dropped too.
Whether they could have defended themselves effectively against "nachtmusik" fitted to FW190s, I do not know. You would think that something would have been better than nothing.
Fast and accurate!
So far we have two scoring 3/3 Keith (Dev One), and PeterW (MilesMan), in that order.
Still in the running are another two, with 2/3, plus one at 1/3. Perhaps they are dreaming up the other answers as I write?
No clues have been given, so there's still diamond badges on offer.
Time for a bit of helpful information:
There are no French or Russian aircraft in the trio, neither is there a Handley Page HP51.
Entries are thinning out rapidly, so unless there are requests for more time, or extra information, I'll close this one about this time tomorrow.
Oy ref, I declare foul on Keith's entries for the last two for insider knowledge - he probably built them
TSR0.001 and a half...................
Unfortunately, not old enough to have seen (let alone design or build) two of those aircraft, nor have I or travelled to one place or been schooled in the other, whilst for the third youv'e gota go somewhere else.
Keith
The bottom two were very straightforward but that top one's got me beaten. There's something so familiar about it but I just can't place it!
Pete
EDIT: Oh, dear, I've just read Mike's 'helpful' post properly - clearly, one of the bottom two was not as straightforward as I thought. I think I'll retire hurt.
P.
I didn't see that Mike, must get some new eyes! It's funny but we rarely see something we're not expecting to see if the something is part of a familiar object.
