Time For Chanukah and Christmas Flights To Northern Finland
Shalom and greetings all my pals,
Sorry about not posting screenshots in past weeks. I have MASSIVE backlog of 2 million screenshots waiting for me to edit, research, and publish!!
Christmas shuttle service between Helsinki and northern Finland during Christmas and New Year holidays can be hectic!!!
Presenting taxi and take off for return trip to Helsinki from EFIV Ivalo Airport 7 miles southwest from Ivalo, the municipal centre of Inari, Finland. This airport is furthest northernmost airport in Finland!
Spooling engines in -20 degree temperature!!
Nice view of engine spooling!!
Taxiing to runway
Roaring down runway for take off!!
Airborne on climb to FL250
Nice tail view during take off to FL250
Climbing climbing while retracting landing gear seconds after take off
Happy 40th birthday to Finnair in 1963!!
Turning left toward Helsinki!!!
Cruising at FL250 at mach 0.71
Thank you for viewing!!! Stay tuned for next exciting flight!!
Regards,
Aharon

Shalom Aharon, I always enjoy your screenshots, but I have to be a pain again. I think we’d all appreciate a mention of which payware aircraft and scenery you use. It’s helpful for our hobby to share enjoyable experiences and then know how to recreate them!
Re: Time For Chanukah and Christmas Flights To Northern Finland
Shalom Swanoir,
Thank you for your kind words. It is NOT NOT NOT problem if you ask me what model or scenery. You are NOT NOT a nooj (nooj means a pain in neck in Yiddish language ) C&C as well as any question are always welcome for my screenshots!!
The model base is NOT payware. It is FREEEEEEE and it is freeware model base by AFG software company which specializes in making Caravelles that you can find in various flight simming websites such as avsim or flightsim or so on.
In this screenshot report, FSX default scenery was used.
Regards,
Aharon

Thanks Aharon, I think I’ll have to check that Caravelle out!
Re: Time For Chanukah and Christmas Flights To Northern Finland
It is pure fun and it sort of reminds you of present day 787 due to same nose and front appearance!!!
I got to warn you that Caravelle has painfully slow climb due to underpowered engines! But pure fun to fly! APG Caravelle works in both FS2004 and FSX.

Aharon

Aharon ,
don't forget that the Caravelle nose was the Comet design , built under licence by Sud Aviation . And as a 'quid pro quo ' , the Trident No. 1 and 3 engine pylons were a Caravelle design built under licence by de Havilland , and adapted to RR Speys instead of RR Avons .
Each pylon on an attached makers plate , was etched with that ..
In this strange year , Merry Christmas ,

There was a similar stuation with Shorts who had a license for the S330 and S260 from B & Q.

My first thought, on seeing the top of picture 1, was; "Now, where's this?"
The sky in different parts of the world is so distinctive. That dark blue with stark white tightly balled clouds is nothing like we see in our part of the planet.
Thanks Aharon. btw, did you actually COUNT those images awaiting your attention?
