British Airways Vanguard

Came across this photo, G-APEU sporting BA titles.
I remember my late good friend Garry Russell was sure the closest a passenger Vanguard got to BA livery was G-APEI, which inexplicably carried British Airways Cargo titles when returned to passenger service following an abortive sale/lease to the resurrected Silver City Airways.
Ironically I flew in EU in June 74, days before here withdrawal. Boarded through an air bridge at Heathrow so didn’t notice, nor did I notice disembarking at Jersey.
Cheers
Fraser

That’s a brilliant find Fraser. Garry would have his brushes out again on seeing that. It’s funny the things we miss sometimes. I really wish I’d made notes of the places I’d flown to and the aircraft that were used.
Good to see you again, and hope you’re well.

Hi Ben,
Thanks, hope you're well too.
I have adjusted my fleet accordingly, hope to have done it to a standard of which Garry would approve
Cheers

Ben, would that have included the 737?

Nigel.

Of course I would, then I could cross it off when it had been turned into something useful like baked bean cans.

See, there's nothing wrong with a 737. You just have to think long term.

So should the phrase be 'Beans Means Boeings' ?

I flew in PEU on a charter flight from Hurn to Heathrow in the sixties the Sunday after the Vanguard crash at Heathrow.
