54 quid for dinner for four sounds in a restaurant seems quite reasonable,

Its 12 quid for cod and chips in the Magpie, Whitby. Although, its probably the best fish and chips in the world :agree: :agree:

As a Yorkshireman I expect you had to have a lie down after reading this Graham. ;) EricT

And this is why I make my own fish and chips at home. :agree: Mrs. FlyTexas can't stand the smell of malt vinegar so I have to eat at the opposite end of the table.

What!? :dunno: Apart from freshly squeezed lemon juice, malt vinegar is the only thing for fish & chips.
I think that Mrs Fly Texas needs vinegar therapy.

What, no salt on the chips and tartar sauce for the fish? :-O

To be honest, I can't remember when I last ordered a piece of fish at the chippy. My 'go to' favourite is battered cod roe, chips, plenty of salt and vinegar and curry sauce :excited: Oh, and chip butties are a must!
