I had it in memory as "It's good to be alive, in nineteen fifty five."
Bur according to Google, it was ....1985, being a reference to George Orwell's 1984.
Whatever, you don't hear people saying that any more :|

I'm still partying like it's 1999!

...and I still miss the guy who wrote that song. :(

I think that was Eccles who said 'It's good to be alive in 1985.'
(Sorry to the non UK people, Eccles was in the Goon show played by Spike Milligan.

Orwells' Novel Nineteen Eighty-Four was released in 1949.

I was released in 1946, people can read me like a book, but I never became famous.
The only thing that I predicted for the future was that sending all the manufacturing to cheap labour countries was a very bad idea.

Ironically, I was diagnosed with a cataract in 2020.

20/20 vision, eh?
Assuming that's not a joke, are you booked for surgery, Paul?
Takes about ten minutes, and you can see it all happen before your very eyes.
As a bonus, when the light catches the plastic lens right, you have a twinkle in your eye.

 No mate, it's not a joke. Having repeatedly put it off because of the pandemic restrictions, I finally decided to get it fixed. I'm going to my pre-surgery assessment next week where, amongst other things, they are going to measure my left eyeball. Presumably that means popping it out and running a tape measure around it. :-O

Seriously, I'll be damned glad to get it done, whenever it's scheduled. :agree:
