What ever will happen next? Spitfire and Hurricane flying on electric motors with recording of engine noise being played whilst flying??

Sacre Blue,or something! I suppose it will be electrically powered steam locos next with’authentic’ sound effects and ‘smoke’ produced by an oversized vaping device. I wonder what will be used for pretend coal? EricT

Don't think I will be converting my classic yet. Although it would stop all the oil drips on the drive *-)

Good grief. :( A quick Google shows the average value of a '53 Minor to be $6,600. I can only imagine the value of one without it's "fossil-fuel drinking heart". What a waste.

I am generally not a conspiracy theorist, but I have to wonder if some of this current petrol crisis in the UK is deliberately engineered scare tactics to make people start to think seriously about electric vehicles.

Same thought has crossed my mind Alex. However I am perhaps less trusting of politicians than some. I also imagine the influence of the ‘Sir Humphreys’ as well. :agree: EricT

That’s nothing, Boris has now cancelled the GB markings on cars which have been used internationally for 111 years. So James Bond can kiss goodbye to his black and silver GB plate on the Aston :wall:

Ben, am I correct in saying that GB will be replaced by UK plates on vehicles? If so I don’t really mind because after all we are a United Kingdom. Aren’t we? *-) EricT

I object because it’s obliterated tradition. I love the black and silver GB plates on classic cars.

The irony is his own bloody jet is registered G-GBNI

So all of those old classics that used to drive about will now need a UK plastic sticker.

It’s just unnecessary. And let’s face it, we aren’t going to be UK for long. The UK sticker will soon have to be replaced with UK* (*sans Ecosse)
