I'm sure I've seen that aircraft. It was on display near the service station just north of Elgin heading towards Lossiemouth.

That's quite correct Mick. It is now on the way to the Deer Centre near Cupar.

We went to Brooklands retail park today, and I was fortunate enough to be able to fill up with petrol at Tesco's. Supplies are getting better in Surrey.

Unfortunately, during the shortage, some mothers had to walk their children to school. Some of them for as far as 800 yards.

An interesting thing I discovered was the difference between Shell V Power and normal unleaded. I usually only fill up when empty, and I though this whole thing would blow over before I needed to fill up again, but alas it was not to be. So last week I noticed a car in our local shell filling station. The lady said that the only fuel they had was VPower unleaded (1.52 / ltr) and although I'd really rather not pay that I was left with little choice...

However... to my surprise, the range after the fill up was 180 miles more than it is when I fill up with supermarket standard unleaded. Now, I take the range at fill up time with a pinch of salt, but a week later and some 408 miles later (and still with an 1/8th of a tank left) i did some calculations, and its actually more cost effective to use Shell V Power than the cheaper supermarket petrol. Now this may not affect all cars the same way, but its certainly worth a look.

Shouldn’t take it long to get there now it’s been refuelled! :hide: EricT

Hi Ben,
Our car gives a range based on recent history. So, if I drop in to fill up on the way home from 100kmh on cruise control, it'll tell me I have 760Km to go. If I've been local stop start, then fill up, it tells me I have 480Km left. Next trip to Ballarat, that number goes up as I drive, so after 50Km, I have more km to go than I left home with.
