East African Airways video

Post by Paul K »

If you've got a spare 15 minutes, this is well worth watching - the history of EAA, the aircraft and routes it operated, and its eventual demise.

Enjoyed watching that. What a great variety of aircraft they flew...unlike a certain airline that I spend much of my day with. Thanks for sharing, Paul!

I travelled on one of the last , sad, flights of EAA, from Nairobi to Heathrow in Super VC10 5H-MOG ( which appears at the start of the film) . The flight was made distinctive by Captain Preston - a James Robertson Justice lookalike - paying the Shell agent off for fuel in cash from a briefcase stuffed full of the biggest collection of US dollar bills I have ever seen ! It was obvious from that , that the writing was on the wall

Thanks for that Paul.
Great find.

During 1962/63 I saw the Comets transit in Aden, plus two of their Argonauts leased to Aden Airways and a DC-3 also operating for Aden Airways for a few weeks in EAA colour’s.
