I've been wondering about this, and have been searching around. I found this thread on Avsim and according to the poster, it was quite straightforward ( I can almost hear Dave G choking on his tea ).

I'm not looking for someone to talk me through the process step by step - just a rough guide to what software is required, and pointers to tutorials etc.

Re: Importing FSX/P3D models into MSFS
My advice? Don't bother!
I've converted a few this way, and in the early days they worked kind of OK-ish. With each sim update FSX port-overs seemed to work less and less. Any gauges that aren't fully 3d modelled won't work. VC click spots don't work. Bump maps don't work. Any shiny materials are just flat. Then there's the flight model... The legacy importer attempts to fix some of these issues, but the results are very hit and miss.
If you want to try yourself, you can download the importer here: https://msfs.touching.cloud/mods/msfs-legacy-importer/

I have a feeling that's the best advice of all..but I shall look at your link, nevertheless. I'd love to have the Halifax in MSFS, if possible. Thanks Dave

Good to see you Brian, how are you getting on with MSFS in general?

Hi Ben, Basically love it. Do most flying now in VR. It's a different world! Got a lot more spare time on my hands now and think I might like to dip into development work again but it's a big curve as the tools are all different now. Been looking at Blender.
