Those officers certainly deserve a medal for what they did. They themselves could easily have been killed had they been a few seconds longer in removing the pilot from the wreckage.

The train was travelling at a speed which I would estimate at 70 mph ; absolutely no chance of stopping it . Medals for bravery deserved here

The time clock on the bodycam suggest that they pulled him clear about 5 seconds before the train struck, so it may have been less than 200 yards away as they pulled him free.

Astonishing courage shown by all present.

I saw some wag post on a forum somewhere "If reported by the Daily Mail it would be, 'vicious police officers assault and drag man bleeding from his aircraft before destroying his plane with a passing train'"
Sadly there does seem to be some truth behind their style of reportage. :agree:
