I just pray that this is over quickly so that innocent lives aren’t lost, however I fear this is the beginning of many such conflicts and a new iron curtain.

Imgur users in Ukraine are posting pics and videos, Russian Helicopter down in field and Russian tanks burning.

Just hope they can hold out against Putins' mob.

Ah, well, according to the PM and Foreign Sec, the exclusion from Swift is about to happen . It still doesn't alter the fact that the proposed measures don't, as yet, go far enough. This needs to hurt innocent Russians as well as Putin - that way, someone may get their fingers round his scrawny throat and squeeeeeeezzzze.

And I think we'd better forget about clean air and reopen the mines, and buy wood burning stoves . It all makes the climate change protesters look a just a tiny bit irrelevant

Interesting activity over Poland. An RAF Typhoon at FL240

Image

Along with RAF A330 voyager also at FL240 (Note - FR24 is listing the A330 as a Typhoon, but once the Typhoon departed east, FR24 labelled the A330 correctly).

Also, USAF KC-10 Extender and KC-135 are in circuits at FL250 and FL300 respectively over southern Poland.

As I was watching the above, the Typhoon disappeared from FR24 (gone into a more stealthy mode?), but the A330 is remaining on station at FL230.

There is the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad, just north of Poland but separated from Russia by Lithuania (a NATO member). If Putin gets away with Ukraine, I wouldn't be surprised if he tries to link Kaliningrad with Russia.
Also, how will China view how Putin gets on, with regard to their claims over Taiwan?

If we (the royal we) can even kick them out of swift, what chance has anyone got of stopping him if he’s so inclined.

Damn you Putin, for invading an independent sovereign nation based on unsubtantiated claims and outright lies. Of course, we'd never do that ( cough ).
