Back from the Mac, and getting some wake turbulence from a BAe 146 ahead of me.
I've always wanted to go RTW in flight simming, and as the MacRobertson race route has taken me about 40% of the way, it's an ideal opportunity to continue. I'll not be documenting each stage as I did before, simply because there'll be far too many of them - rather, a general summary of the regions I fly through, with any points of interest I come across.
As before, no GPS allowed - I'm hoping to do it all using radio nav aids and VFR. This might not be possible once I get to Greenland, but we shall see.
Off we go, then - five legs up the eastern seaboard of Australia, seeing some Orbx-enhanced cities on the way. I've deleted all the nav-aid waypoints to tidy it up, the exception being Cairns, which I flew over but didn't stop at. The sixth leg was across the Arafura Sea, from Weipa in Queensland to Mopah (WAKK) in Indonesian Papua.

My MacRoberstson journey ended at Point Cook, so that's where I set out from ( after a major service to G-OPVK of course
).
A last look at Melbourne, through the real world murk.
After a stop at Mallacoota, I headed up the east coast. No prizes for guessing the city.
After taking off from Archerfield at Brisbane.
After a stop at Townsville, I decided not to land at Cairns, but still flew over, just to see the place. Another Orbx enhancement, by the way.
Leaving Australia after a stop at Weipa (YBWP) and heading for Mopah. After this RTW trip is done, I shall be a virtual Ten Pound Pom, and do almost all my flight simming down-under.
