Bernard Cribbins RIP.

Post by Nigel H-J »

Probably best noted for his appearances in the Railway Children and Doctor Who, a fine actor now left us to entertain upstairs! :((

Rest in Peace Bernard.

Bernard was a regular customer in our local Morrison's in Weybridge. He wasn't often recognised, but my wife spotted him under his cap one day and said hello. He was quite happy to chat for a while.

We had a discussion about bread one day. We both liked Warburton's, but on one occasion when there was none in stock, he got really annoyed with a member of staff who suggested Hovis as an alternative. "Hovis? Hovis?" said Bernard, "even the bloody birds wont eat that stuff" Then off he shuffled still mumbling under his breath.

We haven't seen him for some time, and wondered if he was ill. Very sorry to hear that he has passed away.

He was a credit to British tv and film I will always associate him with the film ‘The Railway Children’ as Albert Perks the station master at Oakworth station on the Keighley and Worth Valley railway in Yorkshire. If ever you go there take a minute to remember him.R.I.P. Mr Cribbins. :( EricT
Now at the age where I know I like girls but can't remember why!
