If Scientists were able to re-create the Tasmanian Tiger, using the technology described, would it truly be a Thylacine? If (on the rare chance), the Thylacine still exists, what effect on the gene pool would releasing these genetically engineered Tassies into the wild have?

But there has been talk already of re-creating a prehistoric animal using genes from bones etc. Now that would be an even bigger worry Mike!
