Video of a recent (real) flight

Post by TobyV »

Hello all,

I know I don't pop in here so regularly as I used to, but I thought some of you might enjoy watching a video I made of a recent (real) flight from Zürich to Bolzano/Bozen in a Bombardier/de Havilland Canada Dash 8 / Q400 whatever it should be correctly known as these days!

https://youtu.be/H-8E52uEFQA

I used a relatively newly acquired camera in 4K mode and was most impressed by the sensor stabilisation. The whole thing was filmed hand held.

Thanks for sharing that, Toby

The landscape is is far more interesting than what I see flying over FL.

Note . After take off, - the video cuts to above the clouds.. I was a little - :-O - inside myself.. The Prop Stopped Spinning!
But then the video cuts again and the prop is spinning again so I figured you'd be OK for the rest of your flight.
At least I was :$

Enjoyed that Toby. I haven’t been on one in years, but remember they had a great initial climb. Stunning scenery too. Is that one of the Ex FlyBe aircraft?

Digital cameras seem to have fun with rotating objects. At least I don't have strange rolling shutter effects like the video I took on my phone - there the propeller blade bent backwards!

I had never been on a Dash 8 / Q400 before at all. Yes, outbound was 9H-EVA (formerly G-ECOO of FlyBe) and the return was 9H-BEL (formerly G-ECOK).

Thank's for a great video Toby....I think I had the same seat on an Olympic Dash8 Q400, Athens/Chios back in 2012....noisy bu**ers aren't they ;)
