I've also used are Affinity Photo - available for about £70 in the UK -

I'm puzzled as to how you've quoted me as saying that "I've also used Affinity Photo". I didn't say that, and have not tried it. It was Pete who said that and gave a UK price.

Anyway, while I was shopping around for alternative editing softwares to meet my needs for replacing Photoshop CS 5.1, Adobe tech support told me this morning that Adobe Photoshop Elements 2023 would be exactly same as few year old Photoshop CS 5.1, Although I was much much skeptical of the tech support's claim knowing that it is probably phony sales pitch, I decided to check features and system requirements of the Elements 2023, I was EXTREMELY shocked to find out that this Elements 2023 has WHOPPING WHOPPING 30 GB file size!!. That is equivalent to THIRTY payware airport sceneries!!

Sheesh

Regards,

Aharon

Gimp can do pretty much anything Photoshop can do, but I just can't get on with it.
I do subscribe to Photoshop, as I used it heavily for textures, as well as photography editing. Strange thing is, Photoshop on it's own costs a shade under £20 per month, but if you go for the photography plan, you get Photoshop and Lightroom for only £10 per month. :dunno:
I also use the Photography plan solely for Lightroom, but I wait until it's on sale at Amazon and purchase a couple of one year subscriptions at a time and then stack them.
The last two I purchased were £72 each, better than the £120 a year monthly cost.

How and from which vendor in Amazon?? Under what name of the product did you buy for 72 buck per year?

Aharon

Type adobe photography plan into Amazon. It's sold by Amazon although the current price is £119.99, but it's reduced down at least once a year.
The full title is Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan 20GB: Photoshop + Lightroom | 1 Year | PC/Mac | Download

You purchase it, get a code and enter said code into your Adobe account where it adds 12 months on accordingly. I purchased two, stacked them and added 24 months on. Bargain.
