NVidia Driver Funnies

Hi Chaps,

For months I've been using version 528.49 of the Nvidia drivers without much issue, as I knew there had been lots of issues with the later drivers.

Last month I downloaded 535.98 which seemed to work quite well, but I noticed that after a couple weeks they'd brought out another version, 536.23 which apparently fixed an issue where MSFS was crashing. While I hadn't experienced this myself, I thought it seemed a sensible update.

After installing 536.23 I started to get small black rectangles appear on the windows desktop (no MSFS running). They averaged about 5mm x 10 mm and would appear in random places.

When I've had this sort of thing in the past (years ago) it usually meant an issue with the video card. I've rolled back to the original 528.49 and the issue has gone away! The only difference with the older driver seems to be that the fans on the GPU run much faster, so its noisier (and probably hotter)

Which version of the Nvidia driver are you guys running? And have you experienced any funnies with it? I've a 10GB RTX 3080.

I'm running the latest drivers, whatever they are, not on the pc at the moment to check. Only upgraded them as I was getting crashes when switching to VR. Didn't fix it, turned out to be an Oculus issue. 8)
Haven't seen anything odd with them. Only running an old 2070 though. *-)

535.98 Studio driver here and all is well with my 3060ti.

I think I was running Studio 531.61 prior to that, although they gave me a couple of MSFS lockups.

I'm running 536.23 on my RTX2070, so far so good.
