Re: CBFS SPOTTER - part 2
27-11-23 results:
The Messerschmitt P1101 was identified by
Mick (woody901), PeteP, AllanL, Joe (blanston12), on their first response, getting diamond badges for their trouble.
Brian (Bridon Bear) stumbled over a SAAB on his way to his second answer, good as gold.
The supplementary motor photo was got in one by Mick, for a bonus star.
The motor was from a computer hard drive, and is about 25mm across.
The precision engineering inside those drives is astounding.
Most use four ball bearing races, two on the motor, two on the arms which hold the reading heads.
The balls in them are about the size of this bold full stop: .
Thanks All.

EXTRA EXTRA
For those who have already submitted a correct answer for 04-12-23, here's an extra to fill in before the Monday results As you can see, you're getting it twice the size of what the Spotters were given in the 1940s

A jolly team of badgers this week:
Brian (Bridon Bear), PeteP, AllanL, Simon (simondix), Joe (blanston12), Keith (Dev One), Eric (Tomliner), Ben (TSR2), and Pete (Motormouse), all got the Avro York without bother.
Brian was the only one who had a go at the supplementary photo from a wartime spotter book, and also got that right first time for a bonus star.
It was a Douglas Boston.
AllanL sent a very entertaining message, receiving the inaugural entertainment badge:
Thanks everyone, ready for the next? Posting now.....

There were three in the bed, and the little one said: We're winners, we're winners"
Actually, they weren't in bed, they were bright eyed and focussed.
PeteP, Brian (Bridon Bear), and Mick (woody901) all get a diamond badge for identifying the Norseman:
Here it is without the smudged markings....The NUDE RUDE 'UN Note the ghost working under the nose
Thanks for playing, and to those who couldn't get it, good luck for the next one

A big team of spotters this week
Eric (Tomliner), Brian (Bridon Bear), Mick (woody901), PeteP, Keith (Dev One), Jelle (Archer), Pete (Motormouse), Ben (TSR2), Simon (simondix),
all got badges for the Doulas DC-6B of Western Airlines.
I extracted the pic from an oldish magazine, and was a bit surprised to see it pop up as the first image when searching DC-6B. That designation is painted on the red stripe, between the rear door and tailplane, so I smudged it out.
Congratulations, thanks, and Seasonal Greetings to all.
