Happy Birthday Karl...I actually flew on one of those BAC 111's of Court Line way back in the early 70's. Got some photo somewhere, aircraft was all pink and called 'Halcyon Days' ;).

Hi Karl, here are a couple of snaps of the Court Line BAC 111 500 that I flew in to Palma way back in 1971, I think the registration was G-AXMK.

It was a bargain out of season short break that Clarkson's did of 5 days (4 nights) full board all inclusive for £18.

In those days, it was possible to visit the flight deck on request and I do remember asking the pilot how many gallons of fuel we had on board. 11 Tons was the reply. We flew from Luton to Palma Majorca which was just under 2 hours. The captain told me that normally the flight costs alone would be about £40 so my £18 was a bargain!

The flight deck photo was pretty poor I'm afraid but the after landing shot came out much better. ;)

Kind regards

Brian,
