If we go to 1970 we start to lose the Argosy (last full year) and the Comet after 1970
Also 1969 we can still have the BKS V.700 for a full year and the BKS
Tridents were in.
Plus two livewries for V.701 in Cambrian and both BKS and CS had V.800 as well
Doesn't matter that is just me saying why I chose 1969

I think that's the idea
Start with perhaps even just the summer of one year and then move backwards and forwards from there.
I don't think it is intended to be one airline one year and no more
Good though for starters and then who knows if sucessful why not start a BUA from Gatwick.
That's racing ahead a bit but it would all depend on who wants to do what.

exactly. give us a chance to get the 'feel', and then see what people say. (conduct improvement surveys every so often).Garry Russell wrote:Good though for starters
Then we can move backwards or forwards, adding routes and aircraft accordingly.
The cuttoff points would obviously be the beginning and end of BEA's carrer, unless we wanted to do otherwise.
***envisions A318 in BEA Red square livery***

Hi All,
I like the idea of a Virtual BEA. It's been 9 years since I last flew a VA route
However, you shouldn't need to worry about the year really. Treat time as being non linear, then each week / fortnight / month when the routes are allocated, a different time period can be used. i.e. Week 1 & 2 1969, Week 3 & 4 1971 etc etc.
That would also allow "theme" weeks. ie when a new aircraft like the Argosy is available, most people would want to fly that rather than something they've been flying for a while, so an "Argosy" week could be scheduled with all the routes flown by the Argosy available for allocation.
I would think the AI system could be used as well, with maybe a separate file for each flight plan?. The pilot could disable the AI route that he wants to fly, and flys that route himself?
Just some ideas.
Cheers,

That's it Graeme.
The year thing is just a base but all kinds of things can come from that within reason
The more ideas the better it would be to suit more people but I would still prefer at least genral times.
Like no problem mixing 1968 and 1970 with 1969 but personally I would not want to see too big a spread because it then becomes unrealistic.
The year really gives us the types and the schedules give an idea.
Extra schedules can be added and different aircraft can be subsituted as happened for real.
BEA wer using ther first pure feight Vanguard by then G-APEL I think went into service the pervious year. So they could replace Viscount freighters and the odd Argosy. Theme weeks could certainly fetaure but as you say it is ideas at the moment and the more the merrier.
