I just thought that maybe I hadn't explained what I meant properly so I was repating it and why ti make it clear to everyone. :wink:

I was making it for some of the newer ones that perhaps didn't realise what we really meant. :lol:

My favourite overall is the Viscount

Than I suppose it would have to be the One-Eleven and Britol SuperFreighter, Herald etc

Very much airliners in the 50-70 time bracket

Well I keep trying to get 'seriously' into some civil Brits. plus a few GA, but - to be honest - my favourites are always from that Brit military 1950 - 1965 era. :wink:

Having said that, I also enjoy the F15 and SU 27............ :worried:

Anyway, we used to have a Viscount fuselage here (Cambrian?) and the Airfix Bristol Superfreighter was one of the earlier kits that I made. It seemed huge at the time!

Just a thought; the Cessna Citation X is quoted as cruising at M 0.92 - you don't think anybody ever tried .....nah, stupid idea!! :lol:

Hi Paul

I think it's a loit to do with what you were surrounded by at an impressianable age

As to the Airfix kit it is probably impossible for those that were'nt arround at the time just how big a thing the Silver City operation was in proportion to the other operations of those days. On top of the the amopunt of pax traffic going to the other side of the channel added up to an airbridge.

Lydd at times rivalled Hethrow in movements and at other times nothing moved.

But it was huge and in the early days Airfix used to have a leaflet in the box about the real airline and aircraft.

Which Viscount fuse do you have there?

Hi Gary

Well a mate of mine actually flew from Cardiff (?) to France with his parents in one.

I just loved the opening doors on the Airfix kit!!!! :redface:

Re the Viscount - I am not sure - we used to have one locally - Wales aircraft museum - but that closed a few years ago - hopefully the Viscount
fuselage went to a good home?
