Did anyone see Mastermind (BBC 1) the other night? Sorry, to overseas friends who will not have been able...
There was a chap who chose "American Military Aircraft WWII) as his specialist subject and Mrs JPS said "this one for you, jps". Actually, I think I matched him and actually answered one that he could not. He finished second, I think, so he will not get the chance for another go at it. Perhaps he would have chosen "British Military Aircraft WWII" for his next specialist subject.
Did any of us recognize him as an enthusiast, like us?
What would you choose as your Specialist Subjects?
Does anyone fancy having a go? No, I am not...

I missed the first few mins of the program, I think he was on 5 when I started watching. Managed to answer most of the ones I heard though

Silly me, I thought the Specialist Subjects were going to be things like:

Turboprop Airliners of the 1960's or
Allied Scouts of WWI or
Imperial Airlines Flying Boats or
Farnborough Airshows 1955-1970 or
Real Ales of the Midlands

Sort of, you know - proper subjects!

Oh, serious subjects??

OK The life and literary works of TE Lawrence

Curiously subtitled:

Lawrence we love you in Ottoman with pots of vaseline.

I was interviewed by RR at Ansty near Coventry last Summer and Steve Petch (Steve S4SSL on here) and I went to a pub the previous evening somewhere round about that area and I chose some local ale at random and it was actually really nice, I have no idea which one it was though
