I think what-ifs are great to see in FS. As well as being fun to fly, they give designers a chance to put a little more of themselves and thier art into thier models. While I completely respect and admire the work required to create a 'by-the-book' replica of a 'real' aircraft, I know that I as a designer would also enjoy doing something more or less fictional in order to put my own stamp on the work. It also gives those who would perhaps like to design real aircraft, but do not, to test thier skills in the sim.

Of course, I say this as someone who couldn't design an aircraft for FS if my life depended on it!
