Hi,
In FS2002 you could add a line to the [controls] section of the Fs2002.cfg file to enable panning in the 2D cockpit "pan_in_cockpit_mode=1"
As I fly with the minipanel this is very useful.
I can't find the equivalent .cfg file in Fs9 - is there one or another way to enable 2D cockpit panning ?
Cockpit Zoom ?

How can I pan the view in the 2D cockpit?
In the fs9.cfg file add this line in the [CONTROLS] section:
pan_in_cockpit_mode=1
http://www.simflight.com/modules.php?op ... +Simulator
try this and post your findings

Hi, not sure if what you want to do will work in FS9 but to get to the area you are looking for...ignore the FS9 .cfg....instead go to Program Files/Microsoft Games/Flight Simulator 9/Flights/Other. When you get there, open the folder and you will see a text doc and 2 little DC3 Application files....Right click the first DC3 called FLTSIM and open with Notepad and you will see the familiar bits you were used to in FS2002.
I altered mine to get the VC zoom fixed to VirtualZoom=000.75 which seemed more natural and also I set the Spot View from SpotTransitionType=Roll to SpotTransitionType=Fixed (which I prefer as I practice R/C flying as well on the Sim)
Repeat any changes for the other DC3 (MEIGS) and then save the changes and Bingo...you should be there.
Both of the DC3 Application files are minute (7kb) but BEFORE you do any alterations...copy both files first in case you are not happy with the changes just to be on the safe side.
Regards.

Cockpit pan
Thank you airboatr - made the change and working nicely
That link has some other things I'll check out.
Having been with FS2002 for 4 years some bits of Fs9 are as yet unfamiliar

good to hear that
the reason I haven't made the change in my files
is I prefer the experiance the VC gives me .
with a proper positioning of the view angles I can have the view of "relaxing in the saet and experiance the peripheral sensation, but get my face to the panel as if i leaned towards it with 2 or 3 three clicks
glad it was painless
it's allways a big kick to see something accually work the first time you fire up FS, after making changes
..and play the game instead of running the mouse maze of trouble shooting
I'm gonna give it a go though as I don't have the luxury of a vc in most of the :-$ airbuses :-$ I enjoy
:tuttut: please no airbus bashing ............. :goodman: it's really not their fault. :-({|=
