Just had a few questions about Ricks Vanguard
1) I've noticed that even with the throttle pulled back to idle, it will still start to roll, and pick up speed quite smartly. Is there a way of editing this without needing to use specialist software?
2) Ive also noticed it barely needs any trim to take off...in fact with about 2 degrees and full power, the climb is nearly vertical! :shock: Again, could I change this?
Of course, if that is actually how it was, I will be happy to adjust my fling to suit It just struck me as a bit odd when compared to the other Brit Classics

Hi Chaps,
A lot of large FS turbo-props won't sit still (unbraked) on the ground, or are difficult to taxi, mainly because MS have never developed proper FDEs for large turbo-props and everything is really a jazzed up light aircraft.
There are a couple of tricks that may help:
In the aircraft.cfg under [propeller] change
beta_min= 12.0
to
beta_min= 1
That's usually the best fix, but it may be worth checking the calibration of the joystick as some throttle settings don't actually go down to zero! A registered version of FSUIPC will let you force this setting, but I suspect the crippled "free" version won't.
Hope this helps. Meanwhile, I shall continue praying that Flight Simulator will one day recognise the existance of such aircraft. I know people like Rick and other developers work very hard at getting them to perform as realistically as possible, but I long for the day when the simulator is as easy to taxi as I'm told the real thing is!
